Join Our Team As An Inventory Assistant

To provide reliable support for the Inventory Department by ensuring high levels of stock organisation, maintenance and movement in the warehouses. Prompt fulfilment of invoices for daily deliveries and transfers of stock for the retail store.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

These are the key responsibilities of the job:

Customer Service

  • Interface with and assist all customers and staff in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Ensure that stock and shelves in the Warehouses are always kept clean by dusting or wiping with cleaning cloths.
  • Ensure the warehouse areas are kept clean, clear, and tidy.
  • Keep the surrounding yard clear for vehicles to maneuver and monitor pallet storage.
  • Restock merchandise between warehouses when required.
  • Assist the Inventory Control Specialist in the warehouse as required.
  • Drive forklift when required using all safety measures to assist with deliveries, offloading trucks and packing stock items accordingly.
  • Collect chicks from hatchery as well as deliver to customers onsite if required.
  • Provides advice and guidance on product uses and selection to customers.
  • Determines customer needs and assists them in finding the products they are looking for.
  • Maintain self-control when faced with challenging or dissatisfied customers.
  • Assist with the Inventory aspect of the Retail Store.
  • In addition to the above you may also be asked to complete any other related or reasonable duties.

KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Must have completed at least a Secondary school education
  • Proven working experience with computers, having a basic knowledge of supporting programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Eagerness to be trained in the software systems used in the daily operations of the company.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Be detail oriented and aware of surroundings.
  • Able to develop a quick connection and rapport with customers.
  • Able to multitask effectively and manage busy periods effectively.
  • Be coachable and enthusiastic; can work efficiently and well with others.
  • Attention to detail with high levels of accuracy with tasks that are repetitive.
  • Able to lift items of not more than 30kgs/66lbs at times is an asset, but not essential.
